LANCO Federal Credit Union began as an idea when a group of teachers met in the fall of 1964, deciding to form a credit union for the employees of the county school districts. In February 1965, the LANCO School Employees Credit Union was chartered.
The credit union operated from the treasurer's home for the first ten years, moved to the back of a classroom in Hempfield High School, and in 1987, bought a small house on West Roseville Road. the present facility was constructed in 1996. Our Brownstown office opened in 1994, and 2000 marked the opening of our Mount Joy office.
