The Cooperative SpiritLANCO Federal Credit Union implements the credit union philosophy, People Helping People, not only in the service that we provide to our members, but also in the community that we serve. We believe that it is important to contribute time, energy and resources to causes that have a positive impact. This cooperative spirit is, and always has been, fundamental to our organization. Each year LANCO’s staff selects a charitable organization to support. Staff and members are encouraged to make donations through various fundraisers and campaigns for the charity throughout the year. 2011 Fundraising – The Humane League of Lancaster County (HLLC)For 2011, LANCO has selected the Humane League of Lancaster County. Check this page for progress updates and details about LANCO's fundraisers:Basket RaffleFrom Monday, November 21 through Saturday, December 17, LANCO sold tickets to members who entered to win the following gift baskets: Kid's Arts & Crafts Bin, Eagles Fan Pack, Snow Day Survival Kit, and Family Fun-n-Games Night. With your support, over 800 tickets were sold, resulting in a total of $296.62 being raised for the Humane League of Lancaster County! Cookbook SaleLANCO members and staff contributed their favorite recipes to Volume 2 of LANCO's Cooking for a Cause cookbooks. With your overwhelming support, this year's cookbook sold out, raising a total of $1,183.20! Thank you to everyone who helped to make this fundraiser so successful. Hot Dog Lunches/Bake SaleLunches consisting of a grilled hot dog, bag of chips, and a drink were sold along with fresh baked goods at the Roseville branch on July 22, raising $111.44. Thank you to all of our members who supported this fundraiser with their purchases and extra donations! Pillow Pets™ RaffleFive Pillow Pet™ Pee-Wees were available to win in our raffle fundraiser, which began April 7 and ended April 23. Through the sale of raffle tickets, $201.15 was raised for the Humane League of Lancaster County! Pet Snack SaleHomemade dog and cat treats were for sale at LANCO branches May 16–May 21. Members took this opportunity to spoil their pets, resulting in $201.00 raised for the Humane League of Lancaster County! Coin WarsLANCO members cast their vote for their favorite LANCO branch by donating their spare change to the Humane League. With a vision of creating a humane community where all animals are protected and wanted, the Humane League of Lancaster County provides compassion and care to thousands of pets each year through a variety of services.
Through member and staff donations in 2010, LANCO was able to present Hospice of Lancaster County with a check for $3,719.77! We appreciate the generosity of our members and staff for helping to support this organization.
