Share Savings Accounts

A credit union's basic savings account is called a share account. Because these accounts show membership and ownership in the credit union, anyone wishing to use LANCO's services must open a share account. A minimum of $5 must be kept in your share savings account. A minimum of $25 is required to earn interest. Dividends are posted quarterly.

Kids Club Savings Accounts (ages 0-12)

The Kids Club is designed to help kids learn how to save and have fun in the process. Kids accounts may be opened with only $5.00, and dividends are posted quarterly once the account reaches $25.00.

Teen Savings Accounts (ages 13-18)

Teen Accounts are designed to help teens and young adults set financial goals and save to reach them. Accounts may be opened with $5, and dividends are posted quarterly once the account reaches $25.00.

Kids Club & Teen Savings Account Features:

• Report Card Rewards (K-12 grades) - earn $1 for every 'A' or equivalent, up to $5 per report card
• Special Share Certificates (CDs) are available (See Share Certificates below)
• Open a Hang Ten Savings Account and get $1 for every month that you deposit $10!

Money Market Savings Accounts

Money Market Savings Accounts are interest-bearing savings accounts, with a higher dividend rate, a larger minimum balance and withdrawal limitations. A $1,500.00 minimum balance is required, and a minimum withdrawal/transfer amount is $300.00. Up to four (4) withdrawals/transfers may be made per month.

Club Accounts

Christmas Clubs

Dividend earning accounts paid at the end of September. Withdrawals may be made from these accounts at other times, with a $10 withdrawal charge.

Vacation Clubs

Dividend earning accounts paid at the end of April. Withdrawals may be made from these accounts at other times, with a $10 withdrawal charge.

Share Certificates

Share Certificates, also called Certificates of Deposit (CD's), earn a higher dividend rate because your funds are deposited for a fixed period of time. The minimum investment is $500 for 6 months. CDs are also available for Kids ($100 minimum deposit) and Teens ($250 minimum deposit) for a term of 1 year.
