Make the switch to LANCO Federal Credit Union
and enjoy ‘banking’ again!
“LANCO FCU was my very first bank when I obtained my very first job after college. Since then, LANCO has seen me through the various financial needs associated with my wedding, graduate school degree, adoptions and births of children, and various car and personal loans. I feel like LANCO is another member of the family! I really appreciate all that LANCO has to offer and the helpful, kind staff. Thanks, LANCO!”
— Terri, LANCO Member since 1994
Are you in an unhappy and unhealthy banking relationship? Dump your old account and make the switch to LANCO — Experience the difference that a trusted, local credit union can make!
We’re in business to benefit you.
LANCO Federal Credit Union has been serving the Lancaster County community since 1965. As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution, LANCO returns excess earnings to our members in the form of competitive dividend rates paid on savings accounts, competitive interest rates on loans, and additional products and services.
Switch Your Accounts in 5 Easy Steps:
1. Become a Member
At LANCO Federal Credit Union, you can become a member and co-owner at the same time by depositing just $5.00 into a share savings account. Eligible persons can apply for membership at any branch. Click here to learn more about LANCO membership.
Do you need greater purchasing power than a debit card provides?
A LANCO Visa Credit Card can provide it! Enjoy no annual fee, no-fee balance transfers, no-fee cash advances, and a low, fixed rate.
Do you prefer to pay bills online?
With Bill Payer, you can schedule an unlimited amount of one-time or recurring payments to be made directly from your LANCO Free Checking.
2. Open Your Free Checking
At the same time that you apply for membership, you can open a Free Checking account. This no-hassle account features NO minimum balance requirement, NO monthly fees, and low-cost, optional overdraft protection.
Your first box of LANCO checks is absolutely free. With a LANCO Visa Debit card, you can access your account at over 40,000 surcharge-free ATMs worldwide. Plus, you can use your card to make purchases anywhere that Visa is accepted. Your checks and your debit card should arrive within 1-3 weeks of the date that you order them.
3. Set-Up Direct Deposits and Automatic Payments
We can help you complete a direct deposit authorization form with your new account information. Give this form to your employer and anyone else who makes direct deposits into your account. Keep in mind that it may take one or more pay cycles for the change to be made, so you’ll need to keep your old checking account open and watch for the switch to occur.
You’ll also need to provide your new account information to any business that has been directly debiting your old account. Review your bank statements from the previous three months and make a list of any businesses that you've authorized to directly debit your account. We can help you complete an automatic payments (also called “ACH”) authorization form that you can send to the businesses on your list.
4. Monitor Both Accounts
Monitor your old account and your new LANCO account. Once you have started to receive your direct deposits into your LANCO Checking and are sure that there are no outstanding checks or automatic debits that need to clear, you can close your old account.
5. Close Your Old Account
Be sure to CLOSE your old account — Don’t just withdraw your money and assume the account will eventually disappear. Your old bank may charge you fees for having a low balance or inactive account. Instead, follow the bank's procedure for closing out the account.
...and that's it! Enjoy the benefits of LANCO Membership.
