If you receive such a call, hang up immediately. Scammers might try to appear genuine by sharing partial, accurate information and asking you to complete the details. Don’t be fooled; it is crucial to always confirm the caller’s legitimacy.
2. Keep Your Online Banking Credentials Secure
Please note that we will never contact you via phone, text, or email to request your online banking username, password, or two-factor authentication (2FA) code. Your banking credentials are confidential and should not be shared with anyone. No financial institution will request this information from you, for any reason.
3. Exercise Caution with Remote Access
Be cautious when granting remote access to your computer. Scammers may attempt to manipulate you into providing access, putting your security at risk. If you are being asked to provide access to your device, but you did not initiate the phone call or request for support, you are likely talking to a scammer. The safest bet is to hang up.
4. Slow Down and Take Control
One common theme with any scam is pressure to act immediately. Scammers know they’re most successful when you don’t have time to think clearly before providing your personal and financial information. Take control of the conversation, and hang up.
