Payments
Payment Methods — Check or Electronic
The payments that you schedule in Bill Payer may be sent electronically or by check, depending on the payee. To know how your payment will be sent, go to the Payments page and find the payee name in the “Pay to” column.
If “Electronic” is displayed below the company name, that means your bill payment will be sent electronically by ACH. Generally, the amount of the payment will be debited from your checking account on the payment date that you designate.
If “Check” is displayed below the company name, that means your bill payment will be sent as a check. When you schedule a payment, select the date that you want the payment to arrive by mail to your payee. The amount of the bill payment will clear your account when the payee deposits your check.
Pay a Bill
To set up a company as a payee, enter the company name, address, phone number, and account number as it appears on your billing statement. After you’ve set up the company as a payee, you don’t need to enter the information or your account number again—simply select the payee whenever you want to schedule a payment.
Pay a Person
Easily send money to friends or family! There’s no need to share your account information with the person you’re paying. All you need is the payee’s name and e-mail address, and they can receive funds in 1-2 business days.
eBills and Autopay
eBills present due dates and amounts from your billing statement to alert you in Bill Payer when it’s time to make a new payment. From the Payments tab, you’ll see the “Set up eBill” icon listed below payees who are eligible for this feature. When you set up eBills, you can also elect to set up Autopay to schedule payments for those bills automatically.
