55th Annual Meeting Invitation
Join us for Lanco FCU’s Meeting & a Movie
Wednesday, March 11, 2020
at Penn Cinema in Lititz
We invite members to attend Lanco FCU’s 55th Annual Meeting to learn about the credit union’s performance in 2019, then stay seated to enjoy a movie! All members in attendance will receive a gift and be entered into a prize drawing.*
Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the business meeting will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are required and may be purchase online or at any Lanco FCU branch. (Tickets will not be sold at the door.)
Movies & Refreshments
Lanco FCU will provide light refreshments in the theaters, including popcorn, candy, and soda. Full concessions will be available for purchase in the movie theater lobby.
We will be holding the meeting in two theaters at the same time, so you can choose the movie you want to see after the meeting ends— Onward or The Call of the Wild. Be sure to select the ticket which corresponds with your movie choice.
Tickets on Sale through Monday, March 9
Tickets are required and are $5.00 per person.
All funds raised from ticket sales will be donated to Aaron’s Acres.
Each member (primary owner) may bring a maximum of one guest. Seating is limited, so please respond early to ensure your admission and movie selection. (Specific seats in the theater will not be assigned.)
3/6 Update: The Call of the Wild theater is full.
We will maintain a small wait-list for The Call of the Wild theater in case we receive any cancellations. To join the wait-list, please e-mail agood@lancofcu.com with your full name, phone number, and number of members and guests that you’d like to register.
Tickets for the Onward theater are still available to purchase online through 5:00 p.m. on March 9th.
Tickets may also be purchased in person at any Lanco FCU branch.
Board of Directors Elections
Members wishing to submit a nomination petition for an available board seat (a voluntary position) must do so by February 1, 2020. Petitions must be signed by 1% of Lanco FCU’s membership and include biographical information.
Mail petitions to: Lanco FCU, Nominating Committee, 349 W Roseville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601.
According to the credit union’s bylaws, nominations from the floor are not permitted unless sufficient nominations have not been made by the Nominating Committee or by petition. The Nominating Committee submitted sufficient nominations to fill the vacancies this year.
The nominating committee has presented two incumbents to fill the expiring terms on the Board of Directors:
Dr. Freeman Chakara
Dr. Freeman Chakara has been a member of Lanco FCU since 2001 and has served on the Lanco FCU Board of Directors since 2011. Freeman received his doctorate from Widener University and owns Providence Behavioral Health, where he is a practicing Neuropsychologist. Additionally, Dr. Chakara has served as a professor at Lancaster Bible College for 20 years and has authored several book chapters, articles and a psychology textbook.
Phyllis Peters
Phyllis Peters has been a member of Lanco FCU since 1999 and has served on the Lanco FCU Board of Directors since 2001. Phyllis retired from Calvary Fellowship Homes as the Director of Human Resources, and worked in the field of Human Resources for over 20 years. She was certified as a Professional in Human Resources and attended Franklin and Marshall College. In addition to her Board service, Phyllis volunteers with the Lancaster County Office of Aging and has served as Chair of Lanco FCU’s Supervisory Committee since 2009.
*Prize winners will be drawn at random and must be present to win. If not present, another winner will be selected. Lanco FCU employees, volunteers, and the family/household members of employees and volunteers are not eligible to win.
