Important Announcement for Mount Joy Area Members

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Lanco Federal Credit Union exists to serve the best interests and financial needs of its members. Profits made by the credit union are returned to members through benefits such as higher savings rates, lower loan rates, lower fees, and free convenience services.

Lanco FCU’s management team regularly evaluates the credit union’s offerings to ensure the credit union is fulfilling its mission and maximizing returns to its membership. After a thorough review of branch performance, the Board of Directors has concluded the Mount Joy branch is no longer profitable, with operation costs outweighing the value returned to the membership. Therefore, the last day of business for Lanco FCU’s branch at 974 East Main Street in Mount Joy will be Friday, May 27, 2022. This change will allow the credit union to operate more efficiently and invest in the service offerings most desired by Lanco FCU’s membership.

While Lanco FCU is committed to providing members with traditional, local services, it also acknowledges the need to adapt along with shifting consumer preferences. Member expectations for seamless banking services and prompt telephone and online support are consistently growing. To meet these needs, Lanco FCU will continue to expand its call center staffing and digital service offerings.

Branch services will remain available at Lanco FCU’s locations in Lancaster, Brownstown, and Willow Street, and members may also transact on their accounts at participating Co-op Shared Branches. Additionally, Lanco FCU offers a variety of services—such as ATM/debit cards, mobile check deposit, online applications, and e-signing—that provide members with convenient account management from nearly any location.

Since opening our first Mount Joy branch over 20 years ago, it has been Lanco FCU’s privilege to serve members in this friendly community. We look forward to continuing to serve your financial needs at our nearby locations. Thank you for your membership and continued support of your credit union.

Where else can I receive in-person services from Lanco FCU?

Lanco FCU members can continue to access credit union accounts and services at our branches in Lancaster, Brownstown, and Willow Street. Our Lancaster branch is just 10 miles away and is ready to welcome our Mount Joy members—in fact, you may recognize many of our representatives as having served you previously in Mount Joy.

Where will the nearest ATM be after Lanco FCU leaves Mount Joy?

The drive-thru ATM at the Mount Joy branch will remain at the same location. The ATM will continue to be surcharge-free when you use your Lanco FCU debit card.

Additionally, Lanco FCU participates in the CU$ ATM network to provide members with surcharge-free ATMs, and members with Kasasa checking are eligible for ATM fee reimbursements each month that qualifications are met.

What types of services can I access by using a Co-op Shared Branch?

Lanco FCU members can visit any Co-op Shared Branch location for services including deposits, cash and check withdrawals, transfers, statement prints, and loan payments. To transact at a Co-op Shared Branch, all you need is your account number and to present your valid, government-issued photo ID.

Can I continue to use the night depository at the Mount Joy location?

Following Lanco FCU’s branch closure, the night depository at this location will be used for members of Everence FCU only. Lanco FCU members should not deposit any items in the night drop at the Mount Joy facility after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27.
